Today we say, “So Long” to two of our own. Jennifer Stroud has been with us for 6 years and has been such a huge asset as our Health Information Management Director. Chief Clinical Officer, Christie Owen, LPC, says of Stroud, “I am going to truly miss working with Jennifer. The critical thinking skills she brings to the table are unmatched when we are trying to work through a problem. It has been a pleasure working with her. I wish her the best in her new endeavors as she advances her career. We will miss you, Jennifer.” Our esteemed leader, Dr. Brad Holloway, LCSW, says of Jennifer, “Jennifer has served as a key member of our administrative team with her vast knowledge of systems, but more than that, she has always been able to apply an incredible amount of critical thinking to solve problems as they arise. Her common sense approach will be truly missed and she will always be considered a member of the Birch family.”
We’re also losing our Chief Financial Officer, Elliott Chester. He has also been with us for 6 years, and has done a tremendous job of making sure this organization stays financially healthy through some turbulent times in our field. Elliott has also been really crucial over the last couple years through the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Director of Nursing, Teneal Hill, APRN, says of Chester, “Elliott has helped us navigate supply chain issues during the pandemic. He ensured that we had masks and other PPE through it all. He was always able to ensure we had adequate testing supplies as well. He has been a valuable resource and team member and will be greatly missed.” Dr. Holloway says of Elliott, “Elliott has served as a “Quiet Leader” for Birch, stepping in to fill so many other roles in addition to the CFO responsibilities. His ongoing efforts behind the scenes showcases the fitting adage that “true character is determined by the things you do when no one is watching.” We are really not saying goodbye to Elliott though as he has agreed to continue serving Birch as a member of our Board of Directors going forward.”
Jennifer and Elliott, thank you for the years of service that you gave to the members and staff of Birch Tree Communities, Inc. No matter where you go, you’ll always be a member of the family! You make us #BirchTreeStrong!
