Benton, Arkansas, February 26, 2016 –Local singer/songwriter, Brian Nahlen, will be honored with a Community Service Award for regularly sharing his time and his talents with the members of Birch Tree Communities, Inc. This will be Brian’s third show at Birch Tree Communities, Inc in the last year and we look forward to many more performances and a lasting relationship with this local talent with a big heart. He performed in November 2015 at our Annual ‘Chili & Willie’ chili cook-off hosted by our AHC site in Benton and is one of the favorite events of the year.
Brian also volunteers his time by performing for the residents at Fort Roots VA Hospital in North Little Rock. Alyssa Welch, Recreation Therapist and Volunteer Services Staff at Fort Roots says of Brian, “We have veterans that respond verbally, rhythmically, etc (to Brian) that are often unresponsive to other stimuli. He is a tremendous asset and a fantastic volunteer. The veterans look forward to his visits and appreciate the time Brian generously gives them.”
Brian Nahlen is a native of North Little Rock, AR. He has been playing guitar for more than 25 years and he has been a full-time professional musician for more than 15 years. Brian has played in many bands over the years including The Big John Miller Band and Fragilistic, and he currently plays in two bands: Pepperland and The Brian Nahlen Band. He plays all over Central Arkansas and has served as guest host on The Collage Show on KABF 88.3 FM. You can find his music on iTunes, Spotify and other streaming services.
